As contact lenses are worn next to the eye, there is nothing to obstruct the peripheral vision in the way that spectacles can. Also, the lenses move with the eye, meaning that you are always looking through the centre of the lens, where vision is best.

We're convinced that wearing contact lenses will enhance your lifestyle and would like to offer you a risk free contact lens trial.

Who can wear contact lenses?
There is no age limit - most people can wear contact lenses provided that the eyes are healthy and suitable. We usually wait until children are over 10 years old before fitting lenses, but you're never too old to start.

Is it easy to insert the lenses?
It is much easier than most people think. Our experienced staff will teach you everything you need to know, including how to insert and remove them, how to look after them and advise on wearing times. Most people experience no more than an "awareness" for a couple of days, but usually completely acclimatise and forget they are wearing them within a week.

What do I have to do if I want to try contact lenses?
A current eye examination is required before we can fit lenses. If you do not have a recent prescription, we can organise that for you. We will then arrange for you to see the contact lens optician for your risk free assessment, when you will be guided through all the different options.

Will there be a charge for trying contact lenses?
There will be a £32.90 charge that is fully refundable if you decide not to go ahead with the lenses or you find that your eyes are not suitable.

Are contact lenses expensive?
Haine & Smith offer a number of payment options for both regular and occasional contact lens wearers - prices start from just £4.90 a month for monthly lenses and less than 70p a day for daily lenses.
