Kids Go Free

One in 10 children suffer from eye problems but most go undetected largely because many parents don’t realise it is up to them to arrange an eye test since the classroom test has become  no longer compulsory in schools.

At Haine & Smith opticians we provide free eye tests through the NHS for children up to the age of 16 and students under 19 in full-time education. Plus, if children need glasses they can choose from a wide selection completely FREE OF CHARGE, not including sunglasses or optional extras.

It is recommended that from infancy to age eight every child should see an optometrist for an annual eye examination, followed by one at least every two years after that.

As well as ensuring your child’s eyes are healthy, visual learning has been shown to account for 80% of the learning process so a child with undetected problems can quickly fall behind or be misunderstood.  So take advantage of their free eye test and request an appointment below.
