We have been working tirelessly to keep our staff and patients safe. We have changed the way we work so that we can welcome everyone into our practices as safely as possible. We will update this webpage regularly, updating our policies as guidance changes.
Open by Appointment
We are open, but we are limiting the people in our practices to those with appointments only. This allows us to keep the number of people in our practices low, which makes social distancing far easier.
Keeping Clean
To keep our patients and staff safe, a lot of our new ways of working involve cleaning. Everywhere a patient goes, our staff will clean. We clean our examination rooms, the equipment, chairs, frames, lenses and tables. We do all this to make sure we are doing our best to keep our patients and staff safe.
We have invested in ultrasonic cleaners for frames. We know our patients want to try frames on to see how they look and feel. With an ultrasonic cleaner, we can gently clean any frames that have been touched, and they will be clean and ready for the next person that would like to try them on.
P.P.E
Personal protective equipment is a phrase you have probably heard a lot about in the news over the past few months. For us P.P.E is all about adding another layer of protection. Our staff have been given masks, gloves, face shields and aprons. While not all of these are required for all our staff, we have made sure that everyone is provided with the P.P.E they need to keep our patients safe.
Markings on the Floor
We can at times all forget what 2 meters actually looks like, which is why like many businesses, we have placed markers and lines on the floor to help our patients judge two metres.
Happy Birthday x 2
Washing hands is still an important protection against COVID-19 and our staff continue to practice good handwashing techniques when not wearing gloves. We have also set up hand sanitizer stations at the door to all our practices to make sure patients coming in can use the sanitizer.
Testing The Temperature
Prior to coming in for an appointment, we ask that patients who are exhibiting any symptoms let us know, so we can re-arrange the appointment. We also measure the temperature of every person who comes into practice to make sure they are not showing one of the symptoms of COVID-19.
